Hopefuly someone can help me out. I have a second phone line that I used for both fax and remote access/dialin to my network. I used to have a Linux server with one modem that could tell whether or not the incoming call was a fax or remote access connection, and switch to the appropriate service automatically. I have since removed that Linux server, and replaced it with a Windows 2003 Server Small Business Ed. I can get the fax service to work ok with one modem, but a remote access connection cannot be established with that modem when it is in use by the fax service. I added a second modem for remote access, and both work fine simultaneously, as long as they each have independant phone lines connected (2 separate lines). I thought about getting a phone line switcher, but I'm pretty sure most are for switching voice and fax/data. It would probably treat a fax and dialin attempt as one and the same, and switch both to the same modem. I am surprised that my "free" Linux server could do this easily, but my $600 2003 Server package cannot. :( Any ideas or insight would be greatly appreciated.
