hi there. would like to ask on how to rejoin a computer to a domain without affecting the current user profiles they are using. The server had been reinstalled including the active directory. no computer account on the active directory had been setup. ive'd been burdened on the number of pc's that i would be rejoining to the domain. the pc's are a mixed of windows 2000 and XP pro.

Can't say since data is missing.
If no computer exists in AD then you didn't do a system state restore. Now as to the users profiles I'd gues they are already gone. That would depend on how they were stored too.
Normally you make everything in AD first then attach computers. But you do have the ability as a user to attach computers to domains. There will be no user accounts on the AD.
I'd ask where the ntbackup tape is. That is the only way I know to save this. An image might do also.

Join the computer to the Domain, have the user login to create a new profile. Then, login as Admin and copy the "old" profile to the new one.
