Comment:

I need to reinstall windows 2003 server but how do i ensure when the users log on they access to their profiles. I had reinstalled win 2000 before and users who logged on logged on to a different profile so i ended up coping their files and setting to another setting. But I am told there is a way to backup user setting most esp their uniques license. Will it work if i backup up AD and if so, how do i backup it up and restore, i really dot want to backup anything else as the setting was wrong in the 1st place.

Despartely seeking help
Tope
TIA

Do you have only one server?
Why do you feel you need to reinstall?
Do you have consistant tested as good backups?

system state backup or backup of all including system state?
Did you test this/these backups with a restore previously?
How many pcs are we talking here?
Who setup the server?

Have you addressed the issue of how the server became infected? Until this has been addressed your server may still be compromised or any thing you do to correct the server will only result in it getting hit again.
