Dear All,
On my office, our server using Windows Server 2003, the virus is out accidental: W32/virut. The virus already lost, the problem is windows installer are broken. So, I plan to reinstall the server.
My question is :
1. With files backup.bkf that I have been made previously, if later in return .... whether its role will be working all (AD, DNS, DHCP, sysvol, etc ...) ?
2. Whether the user will have to Join Domain again to the server ?
Please advice from colleagues all !
Best Regard(AVERRO)

Did you backup the system state?
no? Congrats, you get to rebuild your domain!
In the future, have two domain controlers, DNS servers, and backup system states.
What i would do is install a second DC on the network for the existing domain (you can use a desktop pc if you dont want to keep it long term), make it a global Catalog, dns server, move the roles to the new server, wait for replication, create a new user in AD on the old server, take old server offline and make sure the users can still login to the domain user the new server.
You will need to add the new server to the desktop's dns in tcp-ip.
If they can login your good to go in regards to replication.
Please make sure the new server is also a global catalog (if you forget this you will have problems later) also make sure all 5 roles have been moved.
If the current server is doing dhcp also make the new server a dhcp server (with a non overlapping scope)
If the current server is still online ... the reinstall will be minimal effort ... if you go ahead and rebuild it without backing up AD or adding a second AD controler you will have to rejoin all the computers, fix all the desktops user's profiles.
Rebuild server without second DC 30+ hours .. will have to do server +desktops
Rebuild server with second DC 5 hours .. will just have to add a
