Read only folders

CPU/Ram: loads

Files and folders which I have transferred are appearing as read only. I have tried unchecking the check box to give access privileges to that person and everytime I close the window, the folders return to read only. Help!!!

I might guess that any deny on any group that the person is a part of will also be a deny. Deny's are superior to any other ACL.

moved files always inherit the permissons of the new location unless moved across the same partition.

instead of restting the file/folder, reset the new parent folder that is forcing it's attributes down on the files.

I have also seen this.

When you click properties of a folder on 2003 server the read-only box is ticked. Ignore this!!!!!

Set the permissions though the security tab.
