Is there a way to RDP directly to the console on a lan & wan RDP connection. Right now, I am using RDP to connect to a session then I am connecting to the console, I want to know if I can cut out the middleman.

Thank you,

As long as the 2003 machine is set up as a Terminal Server, you should be able to RDP to it directly from any box having RDP.

No, it starts a terminal services session, it does not connect to the console by default.
