Proper method to take backup

Hi,
I am using windows Server 2003 Enterprise edition and with ISA server 2006. I want to take backup of windows.please guide me that what is the peoper way to take backup of windows server.

1- Go to normal windows interface and in run ---->Ntbackup and choose the complete backup or System State only .

2-When computer boot just press F8 key and we can see

" Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows Domain Controller only) "

By using this way windows load in safe moood .

I should be thankful if you kindly guide me that proper method to start the backup
a- Using normal windows mood

or

b) By using F8 key for " Directory Services Restore " ?

A backup of your important data using ntbackup is not the same thing as Directory Services Restore Mode.

I recommend you research DSRM on microsoft's website and I suspect if you do, you'll be able to answer your own question.
