i need some help plz.
i have a new win2k3 server running and i am trying to configure the domain on this
and i after i go through the wizard and everything i still can't get on the domain from a win2k pro and XP pro machines
it says (the following error occurred validating the name "reapers".)
(the specified domain either does not exist or could not be connected)
can someone help me?
also the server's IP is 192.168.0.1
same with the DNS

sounds like DNS issue. we need more information to help. can you ping DNS server? posting the results of ipconfig /all here may help.

i am also getting a nslookup request timeout
can't find server name for adderss 192.168.0.100

ok .. maybe I missed the answer .. I have been drinkin ;)

Can you ping the IP adress of the server from the workstation ? ... can you ping anything from the workstation ?

Can you ping anything from the server ?

if you can ping from client/server .. then its a DNS problem .. google DNS an look for a proper set up.

if you cant ping anything ... yer basic network is f---ed someware .. sart with network settings on the boxed .. then move on to cables ..jacks . patchpanels .. hubs .. ect ect.
