I've setup Remote Desktop on Server 2003 but when trying to connect remotely, get the following error message 1 in every 5 attempts: "The connection was ended because of a network error. Please try connecting to the remote computer again."

Why?

sounds like a fault network card, faulty network hub/router/bridge/switch/etc

problem with your cable(s)?

best thing to do is on the server, go into each network ethernet card properties and check the box that says "show icon notification in area when connected"

and when get someone to connect to your server tons of times until you can see if the NIC is disconnecting, then go from there, first figure out if its your cable or network router/hub/etc, get a cross over cable if its directly connected, if its wireless its even worse to figure out since it could be a combination of anything
