OS: Windows Server 2003 R2 St
CPU/Ram: 1.87 Dual Core/ 2 GB
Product: HP Proliant ML370G5
Comment:

I installed the file server role on to the server after restarting i try to open file server management snap in and i get this message:
Cannot find resource file C:\Windows\System32\FsmMsg.dll
even though the file is there.
Also now when the server restarts i get this message before logging on:
At least one service or driver failed during system startup. Use event viewer to examine the event log for details.

What could the problem be??
Thanks

The only error i see in the event viewer is this:
The DFS Replication service failed to start due to the following error:
The image file DFS Replication is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine.

That implies you did something like installed Windows using maybe a Standard version CD, but when adding the role, used an Enterprise version when it asked for your disk.

Maybe 32-bit vs. 64-bit...

Something like that...

Personally I'd repair install or completely reinstall Windows. It's clear that your Windows install is now half baked.

Yes, it's everything right now i haven't made a second domain controller yet.
It's a new network and it's my first time i've worked with this so if there's any advise on how i should go i'd thank you very much.
