Comment:
Unable to connect workgroup running win enterprise 03 to the domain controller of the same environment ..giving error as The domain xyz.as could not be found because : the specified domain enter does not exist or could not be contacted
Being a server you would use dcpromo to join it to the domain as a member server or DC.
Your error is usually the result of dns settings pointing to isp not your dc running dns.
'tis the season to be of good cheer. Wishing one and all happy times with family and friends.

I have installed DC using Add roles .and changed the TCP/IP settings added the loopback address in the DNS server address and left the alternate address blank secondly have added the ISP address in the forwarders .
but still not able to connect workstation to the DC .. Do i have to set the TCP/IP settings for workstation too i mean which address to add in the DNS server address ..and the DNS and DHCP both are not configured on the workstation .
still getting the same error A domain controller for the domain could not be contacted

"and the DNS and DHCP both are not configured on the workstation" So you're hard-coding an ip address into the workstation? Can you ping the DC?
