Hello,
I have a win2003 server running MSDE. I whant to conncet remotely to the sql. I've tried VB6 with connection strings, osql command and client tools of the sql enterprise edition. So far i've been unsuccessfull, it says "Server does not existe or access denied".
Meanwhile the firewal is down and I can ping the machine and get in thru web browser and explorer.
Can anyone help me

Sounds like a permissions issue.

Are you using NT authenticaion to log in locally?

How are you passing permissions remotely? SQL authentication or NT authentication?
