Hi,
My PC has 2 HDD with XP pro installed in one and win 2k3 installed on another. My PC won't shutdown completely. I get a message saying it is now safe to turn off...By default, windows xp doesnt activate APM. If I select Enable APM in windows XP, it shutsdown completely. My question here is, how can I get windows XP to enable this APM during installation?
As to windows 2k3, I don't see the APM tab in the power settings frame. My PC is displayed as a Standard PC in device manager.
How can I make win 2k3 shutdown completely?Advanced Power Management is enabled in BIOS. My motherboard (Abit VA6) supports ACPI.
Many thanks in advance.

when you are installing the OS via BOOTing off the CD, when it says to hit f[something] to load a raid/scsi disk driver, you hit f4 or f5 (one of the f[keys] will do it) then it asks what kind of power management mode you want to install...
the best thing to do is set it up in the bios FIRST before doing that, it *MAY* autodetect the power management you are using.
