Hi,
I have been running a domain for a while now, and recently I have been experiencing the following error whenever a user tries to install a program:
"The Folder Path 'My Documents' Contains an Invalid Character". The My Documents and Desktop folders are redirected to a profiles share on the server, and have been for a long time. Also, whenever a user presses the save button in any office app, it crashes! This happens on every computer, what's going on?
Any help greatly appreciated,
Rob

sounds like a corrupt environmental variable. might want to track what changed in the gpo when this started.
Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

Does the folder in the path have an invalid character?
Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

At the risk of sounding uninformed, how would I check if there's a corrupt environment variable. The My Documents and Dekstop folders work fine, and are redirected to \\server\profiles$\username\folder.
It shouldn't really be using environment variables, as I am using a GPO to redirect them, not a batch file. Is a $ an invalid character? I tried moving the share and redirecting to the new place, with no $, but it still didn't work. Thanks a lot for the replies,
Rob
