I have an old computer that i am trying to fix. it will turn on so that the fan runs but that is it. The screen doesnt light up or anything. How could i fix this?

You will need to provide people with more information about the computer before you will get anything but wild-ass guesses as to what could be wrong. If it's a computer that has not been used in a long time, usually the first thing to do is to carefully open it up, clean out any excessive dust, and carefully disconnect and reconnect all the various components in order to reseat the electrical contacts. Then after reconnecting everything, note everything that happens when it's turned on (what lights come on, if it makes any beeping sounds, etc.) and come back and describe what's happening. Also, check things like the monitor with another computer to establish what you know works. You will probably end up having to answer a lot of questions about the computer before anybody is going to be able to help you figure out how to get it working, if it is even possible to get working...
