hi all,
I have a problem when running ntbackup on my windows 2003 server standard edition.

I have searched the web and cannot find an answer, so I come to you guys....

When running ntbackup to Freecom Dat tape,

1. select small number of files - OK
2. select several GBs of files - Crash

Get no message in error log.

If I select Full Log, shows the file being backed up as not completing with no further info.

I have purchased a new drive - no joy
Updated driver files - no joy
Purchased new tapes - no joy

Seems that the server just won't back up 30/40 Gb of data to tape

Help, my nut is getting worn out!!

You aren't trying to backup a live database with open files are you?

Ntbackup will puke on open files.

No.
No database on this server at all,
just office docs and images.
