Lucky devil that I am, I get to migrate our NT4 domain and Exch server 5.0 to Win Server 2003 Enterprise and Exch Server 2003.
My question relates to the Exch Server move as everything that I have read says that you have to have Exchange Server 5.5 in order to do an inplace upgrade. I have an old 120 day trial CD of Exch 5.5 and thought that I would copy our present server which is the only server on to the new system unit and effect the upgrades after it has gotten up and running as a replacement for what we have now. Once the copy system is up and running I would upgrade the Exch 5.0 to 5.5 and make sure that functions. After that would be the inplace upgrade to Server 2003 Ent. and enable AD.
The final step would be an inplace upgrade to Exch Server 2003.
Now for the tuff part. No documentation for the upgrade. Can I do an inplace upgrade with that CD? And can anybody point me toward documentation of the 5.0 to 5.5 conversion steps.
If anyone has such documentation I would be interested in buying it or would pay shipping in both directions if I could borrow it.
We only have the one server in the domain and it is running NT4 and Exch. Server 5.0 as the only additional service. We have a small network with about 15 seats.
Thank you!!!!!
