no display screen on boot up

Hi, My pc was running smoothly, but suddenly disply on the monitor went away and monitor bcame black and turned off. On cpu case red light was seen continuously without blinking. I initially thought it is because of power management and moved the mouse and pressed the key but nothing happened. I turned off the computer and after few minutes started. But no display screen, only red and green light on the case without blinking. I tried several times, but failed. After two days my pc started, but display went away after few minutes with the above symptoms. After the first incidence my pc started two times and stayed for few minutes only. My pc is P4 machine with mercury mobo,intel processor, samsung CD rom and sony 1.44 fdd. Please Help.
