Hi,

I am trying to setup a VPN using windows 2003 server. I have configured RAS and DHCP and can connect to my VPN from outside the network; I receive an IP address, but cannot ping any internal resources. Upon inspecting my IPCONFIG settings (from client), I noticed I am not assigned a default gateway -- it's simply 0.0.0.0. Any thoughts on this? How can I set the default gateway to the IP of my VPN box as it should be?

Network Environment is as follows:

Server: 10.10.50.0/255.0.0.0
Outside Connection: 192.168.1.2/255.255.255.0

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You,
smti

Before we get too carried away. Might ping be blocked?

See here for more info.

Jefro,

Thank-You for your reply. I doubled checked my router -- it is currently set to respond to ICMP requests. Is there something else I should be looking at?

Thanks,

smti

ICMP might be and should be blocked by default on the server and current version levels of xp if set properly.
