I have a very small network (2 computers) for testing purposes. I have a domain set up and working but I wanted to see what would happen if I tried logging onto the domain with a disabled computer account. Well I was able to log on just fine which confused me so I deleted the computer account altogether and I was still able to log on. What’s the deal? I was under the impression that a computer account was needed for every computer trying to log on to the domain. Of course if I do this to the user account it locks me out. By the way I have tried this with actual user accounts and not ones with administrator rights. So what’s the deal?

You're logging onto a local account probably.
When you say "domain", do you mean you have a "Domain Controller"?
