Hi. I'm trying to setup a 'test' domain for my network. All my clients and server are behind a linksys router thats connected to a cable modem. I'm not really sure how to set up the DNS/DHCP/WINS for my server and clients. Can anyone explain this to me? I don't really want to turn off DHCP on the router, because not all of my clients will be on the server, and I don't want to disrupt their IP addresses. Thanks

You can continue to use the router for DHCP, no problem. It's not necessary to even install DHCP on the server. If it is installed, just don't configure any ranges, and use a fixed IP for the server. What do you need to know about DHCP?
