Hi Everyone
we have one network with 85 users, 1 domain controller, 2 application server, shared printers.1 files backupserver.
our DC have gobal catalog problem and i tried all way its not work know i decided to replace old DC the with new DC in hp proliant, we dont have any secondary domain.
we are using windows server 2003 enterprice edition for all servers.my question is i want new DC same like old DC like same domain name, same ip address, same subnet mass, same default gateway, please tell me the processor step by step

You install and assign it a different name and ip. You join it to the forest as a dc. Let replication complete. You dcpromo down the other dc and remove it physcially from the network. You configure the existing dc to the former name and ip.

Note: MS recommends two DCs for failover of AD and authenication load balancing.

Why do you think you have a issue with the global catalog? I don't see how a new server can address that.
