I’m trying to use the netdom computername command to give the server an alternate name as described in the Migrating Windows Small Business Server 2003 to New Hardware. I followed the instructions and it completed successfully i then made the registry change but when I try and access the server via its alternate name I get the error message the network path was not found. I also check the msDS-AdditionalSamAccountName and msDS-AdditionalDnsHostName records the alternate name is in there. I’m not sure if i should be able to ping the alternate name example server02 and server01 responses
