Hi
We have a Windows 2003 server with XP pro client and I want to make the my documents folder to be the home drive which is a mapped network shared drive called h:.
I have tried all sort of things, like setting the home profiles path to connect to H:drive with the UNC path pointing to the \\server\%username%, and have also set the user profile path to another UNC path.
I get the map drive H, but my document is still pointing to the C/documents setting...
What am I doing wrong?
I have also done a folder redirection in GP for my documents to another shared drive, this time the my douments folder shows the UNC path, but when I change the root path to something else, my documents will not change path, it is still pointing to the old path.
This roaming things is driving me nuts. I have to change all local users to roaming once this is working. Not even sure how to tackle this.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
thanks
Ken

Have you gone to microsoft's web site and searched "roaming profiles"? If not, do so and read all the info on setting up roaming profiles.

Have done it and following their intructions but doesn't seem to say anything about my documents as the map H: drive.
