I recently installed WINDOWS SERVER 2003 ENTERPRISE but I still have my old Geforce MX 440 graphic card. When I tried to play a game error msg comes out saying that the driver is not compatible with WIN2003, can someone help? Where can I find a driver for my WIN2003.

Did you enable direct X and direct3d aceleration?

start --> run --> dxdiag

Display
--> Directdraw Acceleration --> enabled
--> Direct3d Acceleration --> enabled

check that, then try it again

I did what you said and saw only DirectDraw has a button that says enable, the other ones are not available, and when I click enable, it also becomes not available. When I try to play the game Rise of Nations the error msg again comes out saying that Graphic services fail to initialize. "Please make sure that your video card and drivers are correctly installed, and are compatible with rise of nations." I have WIN 2003 so i think it's that they don't have the drivers for WIN 2003 yet, cuz when I play on WIN98 from the same computer it works(I have two OS).

ricky, it should run fine with this OS.

Try going to www.nvidia.com and downloading the latest 44.03 Detonators. You NEED Directx enabled to do D3D games, so do what he said! If the button shows Enable, click it.. thats all.

Also, right click on your desktop and go to properties (in other words, display properties from System). From there, go over to Settings tab, then bottom right go to Advanced. Click on the Troubleshoot tab, and make sure hardware acceleration is all the way to the right.

If none of that works, oh well

Thank you lightningstrike, and Robert. The game works now, and i'm sure that anything else in the future that'll reqire my graphic card will work fine also. My hardware acceleration wasn't all the way to the right and I changed that and that fixed the problem. One more question, will hardware acceleration "work" my computer too hard and wears it out, or it's no biggie?

ThX again,
Rick
