Comment:

We have offline synchronization and roaming
profiles in the same directory. This is causing
problems. What is the best way to move 300
profile directories to another UNC path and also
update the AD user properties at the same time?

Thank you,

Could you elaborate? Are you trying to sync the roaming profiles or do you have other files that you want to sync that just happens to be in the same folder as the profiles?

In the last case I'd move the files, not the profiles, then I'm sure you could script the changes in the clients.

Move profiles to the desired path. Open AD users and computers select the relavent users whilst holding down the shift tab (this selects more than one user) navigate to profile and specify the profiles UNC path. Ensure the last path of the profile path has the variable %username%.

IE: \\server\profiles\%username%

scurlaruntings: Cool, I didn't know you could do that... maybe I haven't had the need, I don't know, but it's really good to know! Thanks!
