Hi,
We have 1 Server, 10 clients in the office.
Server is running Windows Small Business Server Standard Edition, and the clients are running Win XP Pro SP 2.The Server and clients are connected to a switch, then to a VPN Gateway, then to an ADSL model and connects to the Internet
How can I track Internet Access and also how much bandwidth is used by what activities?
I did a search on the Internet and some software is used for WinProxy, ISA etc etc.. However I am not familiar with all those. I do not know if a Proxy is setup in my server. Would love to know how to check though.
Is there any software that is easier to implement and can do the tracking without requiring too complicated configuration or setup?
Appreciate your help and advise.
Thank you so much in advance.
Best regards,
Jane

Small Business Server 2003 Premium has ISA in it. If your server is beefy enough to take that extra burden, that would probably be the best way to go.
Also, ISA is not that hard to at the very least implement.

It wasnt that bad, at the time, it was okay. Hard to compare today's versus 1998's technology. I actually prefer Checkpoint currently but havent worked much with ISA in a few years.

Checkpoint owned Proxy (duh, Proxy wasn't a firewall). ISA in my opinion owns Checkpoint. Just too many cool things you can do with ISA that checkpoint can't do.

shame a sonicwall firewall/router wasn't put in at the beginning. With viewpoint you can get a daily report that breaks everything down to what, when and who. It also supports vpns
