MMC and Run As

I have a test server (2003 DC) and an XP workstaiton (workgroup).

I create a custom MMC on the XP client that just contains "computer managment" pointing to the 2003 server and then save it out as a .msc file

I hold down the shift key and right click the fiel (to select runas), enter the credentals eg user: domain\adminstator and the password I get an error stating "Unable to log on, unknown user name or bad password"

I can however connect to server shares by \\servername and then entering the same username and password when prompted.

Ideas why I cannot connet via MMC?

I do not want to add the XP desktop into the domain, I know this would work!!!!
