I recently upgraded from a dynamic IP to a static and ever since I have been having trouble browsing certain sites. Yahoo and google are fine, but Microsoft and others timeout. When I ping www.microsoft.com I get an IP back, but the pings timeout. Tracert on www.microsoft.com returns my router local IP but everything else times out.
I've checked my ISP DNS servers and they are fine. I've also checked my new IP to see if it is blacklisted.

Have you tried contacting your ISP tech support about this? It sounds like a settings issue, they should be able to help you pretty quickly as they are probably dealing with similar problems daily.
