I have a Windows 2003 Server that I installed a little over 3 months ago. It is setup as the Domain controller/DNS server. I have 20 XP Pro workstations logging on to the server and it works fine for a couple of days, but then I get an error on the Windows XP machines. When I go to log in, the machine says "Windows cannot log you in, make sure your username and password are correct. Windows domain controller cannot be contacted. Please contact your system administrator." The only way to get the XP machine to loggin to the server is to log in locally, rejoin the domain and then log in. Does anyone know why this would happen? So far, it happens with at least 3 different machines per week, I thought it was a licensing issue but I have licenses for 40 users.

Did all the clients come from the same image, like a RIS image?
Also check on a few that are not loggin on to the doman:- Login Locally, Open the Services, make sure NetLogon and Workstation services are running. If they already are, check if u can stop them and restart them.

I was going ot ask the same question about images. Also, are they dual boot PC's AND are you rejoining them using the NW id wiz or just putting them in a workgroup and then back to domain?
