I am setting up a new Windows 2003 Server. The install was flawless. Next was to install Backup software (Backup Exec. 9.1) from my .iso CD. The machine locks at various places during the install. I tried the install on an adjacent 2000 Server machine with similar results. Next I tried it on an XP and 2000 Professional system and the install worked perfect. The program is written for server backup. Where could it be goin wrong? Each server does begin the install but issues errors or locks on the install screen. Why would XP and 2000 execute the ISO correctly, but server 2000 and 2003 would not. Is there a difference or security setting that I may have missed or is there a different way the CD need burned.

I highly doubt there is extra protection on the servers for backup copies. I have used backups on NT4, 2000 and 2003 server without problems. Chances are you have a cheap CD burn or bad burn. I would copy the contents to your hard drive and burn it again. Or use Clone CD to burn a 1 to 1 copy. Always use the Burn program to copy the CD contents to the hard drive first before burning. The CD readers in the servers could be having a problem reading the burn. Make sure the session on the CD is closed after the burn process is finished. I would use a good CD brand and not some cheap blank cd brand. I hope that helps.

I would say you have a bad file. Only a test on another 2003 would yeild any correct results. Does the iso offer any checksum to compair?
