Hi Guys,
We are currently theorising a setup and basically want 2 servers with IIS and a few other things set up with NLB/Load Balancing. What we are confused with is the IP addresses, I understand that the cluster IP itself will have to be a public/Internet accessible IP address, but do the dedicated IPs for the servers themselves have to be public or can they be a private (10.0.0.0/192.168.0.0/172.16-172.31.0.0.0) address?Another question is:
This setup that we are theorising will be shoved into a datacentre so will have the public IPs sitting on the machines themselves and internet provided by ethernet, but if I was to do this in a smaller environment using an ADSL connection (per se), and have the internet IP terminating/connecting on the router, can I have a NLB cluster with local address ranges (for example, have the cluster IP as 10.1.1.50) and just forward port 80/443 (and whatever else I need) to that IP?Thanks guys

Hard to address your question since it is based on some assumptions. You do not need public ips for your servers or cluster. In fact no server should have a public ip imo. Domain name points to a public ip or ips. Your firewall/router has that/those ips on its wan interface and can then route/forward requests to the servers/cluster. This is standard setup.
Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search
