Hi
We have a server with about 2x NT server with 50 users and 1 onboard networkd 100base network card and one with 500 users, is it worth putting in another network card in one of the servers and enable load balance or better to buy a 1000base card and use this. Or just don't need it as it's just a file server with some synchronising programs. I am also going to replace one of the NT with Windows 2003 server should I do this on the new server?

If you get a second NIC, ensure it is the same as the first, ie a Broadcom, then these cards can be teamed together, like a load balancing. But the other questions you might ask, if you put in a Gigabit card in, the wire is it Gigabit too? or the switches that your connected to, are they gigabit? (see where Im going?) there will be a bottleneck somewhere. If youre going to replace one of the NT servers with W2k3 is the hardware compatible with 2k3? Might be worth a chack.

Hi
The W2K3 new machine is working no problems, I have just installed the OS.
1G card, the switch I am going to get to connect to the server will be 1G Rj45, it's just the backbone of the network running 1G from Block a to block B. All machines will be 100 megs and 10megs.
