Is it possible to perform any sort of TCP/IP load balancing on windows 2003 server, or Windows XP Professional?
Further, is it possible to force a particular application to use a specific interface. For example, peer 2 peer client utilizes one interface. Critical applications (Perhaps containing credentials vulnerable to sniffing) out another.
I have two Separate Sprint EVDO Internet connections on my laptop ea. with different IP's, etc. Furthermore, I often connect wireless to cafe's and other wireless AP's. Bringing me to a total of Two publicly addressable interfaces and one behind a Wireless AP.
Can these interfaces be combined or utilized seperatly? Can I assign particular applications a specific interface?
For security, it would be preferable to use the Sprint Card for apps like telnet, RDP, unsecured email, web logins, etc.. While using a cafe's wireless for non critical bandwidth.
It would make sense if you firewall an interface out completely.. the traffic would take a different path.. But windows XP Pro seems to ignore interfaces that have a lesser deemed "Speed" even if they work better.
Also, a major limitation of Sprint's EVDO service is upstream bandwidth. Can an interface that has more upstream cability forward packets on another's behalf. i.e. Packets are sent out from a specific interface with the return header specific for another.
Any input is appreciated. I would like to add versatility to my Windows XP interfaces.
