Comment:

I have two computers both using wireless, Windows 2003 and XP. I set up Domain Controller, DHCP server, DNS server (192.168.1.2), File Server. Now I can't join the XP to the domain, it says wrong DNS and DNS on XP is showing 192.168.1.103, which is the IP of Windows 2003 before I set up DHCP server and DNS server.
I didn't think the way to fix it is to manually input that it in TCP/IP properties. What should I do to fix this on Windows 2003?
Thanks.

Since you only have 2 machines, there is nothing wrong with using static settings. If you still want to play with DHCP, try ipconfig /flushdns on the XP box.

/flushdns & /release & /renew didn't fix the problem.
==================================

XP <--wireless -- Router_1 --wireless --> 2K3_A

2K3_B <--CAT5-- Router_1

2K3_A co DC, DHCP server, DNS server, File Server
Before setting up DHCP server, DNS server, on 2K3_A:

IP: 192.168.1.103

After setting up DHCP server & DNS server, on tren 2K3_A:

DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.2
=========================
XP & 2K3_B can't join domain as invalid domain name but it was input correctly. On these two computers:

DNS Servers 192.168.1.103 instead of 192.168.1.2

How can I fix this DNS address so I can those two computers to the domain? and be able to use the dynamic IP from DHCP server of 2K3_A?

Thanks.

The server should have a static IP address out of the DHCP range. Did you set it that way?
