Hi,

I have a bit of a problem with ISA Server 2004. It is running on SBS 2003.

I have setup some monitoring software on XP machine with the IP 192.168.2.35. I am monitoring all of our servers with this to make sure everything is up and running and that we can respond quickly to anything that goes wrong.

I am trying to monitor our main server that is running ISA Server 2004. IPCheck (the monitoring software) is saying that the server cannot be reached when pinged and as a result no other monitors work, for example checking a service is running, checking the disk space etc.

IPCheck is also giving this error "Could not send Admin message Socket Error # 10061 Connection refused." I am sure that ISA is blocking the IP of the monitoring software and I have been informed that this is due to it sending ICMP requests to frequently.

What I would like to know is, how do I stop this IP from being blocked? It is stopping the vast majority of monitoring from happening and is blocking notification emails from being sent (SBS 2003 is also our email server).

Thank you

LJR

What do the folks at IPCHECK have to say about the config? Surely they have done SBS support and know what issues there are and how to address them

I'm betting he's using the freeware version.

Using ISA Management console, create a rule that allows All traffic to and from a computer object you define as your IPCHeck server and the Local System network object.

You may also need to add within the system policy the IPCheck server to receive pings, and you may also need to disable Strict RPC traffic enforcement if it isn't already.
