We facing the issue when we exceed the number of IP in used. We set the IP using static IP to client and server. The IP start from 192.168.112.1 until 192.168.112.255. The problem is we only less free IP to use. Every new pc must have their own IP to allow the user name logon to our Domain. For information the Domain running on windows 2003.

You can't use 192.168.112.255. That is the subnets broadcast address.

So you have 254 pcs/server/devices?

What do you think your options are since you ran out of ip addresses?

Example of Oxymoron:
Person who is pro life and anti sex education.
Education is key to prevention. Prevent conception you prevent abortion. Abstinence training clearly isn't working.

Thanks for the information. Actually we have around 210 pc and 10 servers. The Ip 192.168.112.255 is reserved IP. In the future we are planning to add more pc. So les IP we have. How to ad more static IP for user logon to our domain. Thanks

It is always a hard choice between static and dhcp assigned ip. It is much easier to change a class of ip if using dhcp.

In your case you have three options;

1. go to a class b subnet
2. supernet 2-3 class c subnets together
http://www.sethenol.com/supernetex.htm
3. engage routing and add another class c subnet.

Anyway you go you will need to touch 220 devices [except for option 3]. You may want to consider converting to dhcp instead of static at this time. If that is a consideration for you, you maybe able to roll out a tcp/ip change from static to dhcp via a group policy. You would setup your dhcp server and roll out the policy before you do the subnet change.

Example of Oxymoron:
Person who is pro life and anti sex education.
Education is key to prevention. Prevent conception you prevent abortion. Abstinence training clearly isn't working.
