Im running a W 2k3 server with 2 network adapters, one connect to my adsl router and get assigned via DHCP a certified ip, the other one connect to the internal router a get assigned an internal ip.
The server roles activates are File Server, Aplication Server, Terminal Server, Remote Acces /VPN, Domain Controler, DNS Server and DHCP Sever. Also it runs an Apache Server, a MySQL Server, a SQLSERVER 2000 (latest SP), a Ms Project 2003 Server and SharePoint Services.
This server assig ips to all the computers in the local network and acts as gateway as well.
The problem is that we need to restart the server A LOT, because after a while of uptime (and this time is variable) the internet connection goes down, and we cant access or ping anything, even from the server itself or the computers into the local network, which is logical.
I ran over a simillar problem once, running a developer edition of SQL SERVER 2000 on an XP Pro workstation, after a while the sql thread consumes all the CPU resourses and the internet fall, at the moment of killing that proccess everything was solve. But in this case theres no obvious proccess eating my cpu or anything like that and im getting clueless and desperate.
Thx for your help in this matter.

Just a thought, what about building a second server for the sql, & take it of the main server? as if it is using alot of cpu. Not only that, the second server might also be the DHCP for your network.

Guess you could use perfmon to make a log of different things. A guess could be memory leaks. Only a corrected application would fix that but it would show in the logs.

I am not using SQL and I have the exact same problem. I have DHCP, DNS, IIS, and Routing and Remote Access installed and running. The server simply loses connection to the network. It can happen every 25 minutes or a couple of hours. It has not gone a full day without losing connectiont to the internet. The server was running fine in fall 2003, but either late Dec. 2003 or early 2004 it started having this problem. Help would be appreciated.
