I am a Domain Admin for a business and they have a Windows Small Business Server 2003 setup. I want to be able to interact with users to show them how to use software without using VNC or any third party software. I thought SBS 2003 could do this. How do I set it up?

Why not just use Netmeeting and Netmeeting into their machines with it? It's free.

That looks like video conferencing. I want to interact with their desktop like an RDC but I want them to see it. I may use it beyond applications, like setting up a new user with shares, programs, settings, Mapped Drives, etc...

The workstations are running WinXP Pro SP2.

When setting up Netmeeting you can choose to active remote desktop sharing in the tools on the machine you are trying to connect to. Then close netmeeting, look down in the system dock by the clock and right click on the netmeeting icon to turn on desktop sharing or allow desktop sharing. (I set all my clients up this way). Then, from my desktop, I "call" their machine and you are on. And they can see everything you are doing.

Netmeeting has a video conferencing function, but you are not using this part of it. Trust me, I do it every day! It works great.

SBS supports it through the use of Terminal Services. You must allow Remote Control of a TS session.

You could also use Remote Assistance, too.

Like to make it hard on yourself?

You don't mention lan or via the internet.
I suspect you are referring to RDP [remote desktop protocol].

Perhaps this will get you started

Knowing the correct answer and giving a correct answer, are two different things
