I have a windows 2003 server that is running our intranet.

I don't know much about PHP, but I was taught my SN how PHP was a simple solution to a problem I was having (for more information, view http://www.computing.net/webdevel/wwwboard/forum/1252.html)

I installed PHP4.3.10 from the installer at php.net onto a dummy server running Windows 2000, and did the scripting to a web page, and it works excellent. When I browse to that web page, I get the a page with links to all the files in a certain directory. Beautiful!

However, when I installed it on the real server so I could go live, the installation runs fine, says its successful, but when I copy the scripted page to the correct folder on the server, I get "Page cannot be found"

I turn on directory browsing, and browse to the file, I see it listed, but when I click on it, same message.

I've learned on my dummy server that browsing through My COmputer to the file and doublcicking it does NOT have the desired effect when I look at the resulting web page, it only displayes properly when I browse to it on the actual web site.

I browse to the file in My Computer on the live server, and I get the same page displayed, incorrectly of course, as I do when I go the the same file on the dummy page. But it's not found when I browse to it.

I've checked every setting in IIS that I could find and verified it with the Win2000 server, but everything seems to match up.

I do not know enough about PHP to resolve this on my own, so I plea for your help.

When installing, I had first chosed IIS6, as that's the my win2003 server was running. I've since re-ran ths installation, using the default valie of IIS4 or higher option, hoping that would resolve it, but to no avail

Any idea why PHP pages aren't being accepted as legitmate files?

I figured it would be a mime setting, but the 2k server doesn't have it in the list, either.

Am I getting close? I don't know the terminology well enough to get a resonably close match on web searches

In IIS, there is a folder called Web Service Extensions - click on Add New Extension and enter the information for PHP and see if that makes any difference. IIS 6 comes locked down with no active scripting enabled by default. We had to enable ASP manually in the Web Service Extensions so I expect it is the same with PHP.

THanks, I've been playing around with that, but to no avail :(

Also, I've tried finding other install packages for PHP, like easywindows installer, but NOTHING seems to be available anymore, like they have all been taken offline!

Maybe it's a problem blocking it on my network? I've used several computers here, and it can't find the page of any of these mirrors. Anyway..

I've added entries to MIME, added the extensions, added permissions, but now amd getting "Not authorised" errors, which are inexplicable to me as I have gone through permissions line for line.

Very frustrating! Thank you for posting back so quickly!!
