Okay this is the problem i am currently using windows xp, but i want to install windows server 2003 but wen i try it say i havent got enough sdram, i am suppose to 128mb sdram but it only shows 96. i need to know how to get it 128mb sdram instead of 96. oh and ps i think it is shred 32 mb of it.

I suspect that, if you follow the instructions provided by your computer maker, you would be able to install more ram.

There must be a reason for your computer not showing up all 128mb RAM if you think you have already got this much installed. I would think that if your 128mb is made up of 1x64mb and 2x32mb then perhaps 1 of the 32mb is not working or your motherboard does not accept that level of RAM. It may be that you can't increase the level of ram the motherboard will take but you can find out from the manufacturer, otherwise you may need to update the bios.

the shared ram is for your video. you lose that and the system will only show you what is left from the origional amount. there isnt one bad chip. just buy another sdram chip, or a new video card. if you buy a new video card you can get into the bios and change the amount of shared memory. good luck.
