We've just added a load of new user areas to drivers on two separate Win 2003 servers.
When we check the folders they show they have inherited Read Only attributes (the one in the General Tab NOT the security tab).
In the security tab the folders have Everyone Full Control right from the root drive and inherited all the way to the folder level.
We remove the check from the read only box and click okay. It asks to confirm if we want just this folder to be changed or all of the child objects as well. You say okay and it runs through changing all of the objects. When you close the properties box and reopen it the read only attribute is back. The same is true for all of the child objects.
Can anyone help please?
Interestingly if you access the files from a 2000 server they are not read only. But from any clients *(xp, 95, 98) or 2003 servers they are read only.
