Comment: Sir, I want to take the information about "host" file which is located in etc folder.... I know that we mention IP address and FQDN against it. But why we mentioned them..... and if we not enter IP and FQDN in it then what would be the responce of system and what type of addresses i can insert in it. Plz tell me about it....that what is the purpose of Host file?? Thanks alot!! Any kind of help would b appreciated!! Syed Fahad Hussain

Reply: sfahad this is a question easily answered by a simple web search of "Hosts file". If after that search and you have read the results you have questions come on back and post them. Stuff like what is the hosts file for is best left to Google. Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search
