I am a real novice about iis, so please bear with me!
I have a pc setup with iis merely for testing on my network, not hosting. I want to see how a website will appear when I put it online. I have the site published on the test machine and it works fine. How do you access the website from one of the pc's on our network? I know I can browse through the network and find the files, but is there a way that you can type in a name or whatever by using the START/RUN from the desktop?
Like I say, I am a real novice, so bear with me!!
How

Okay, thanks! How will the command line look like and where do you enter that?
The websites name is MyWebSites.

I may have not hit SUBMIT on my last two notes, so this may be a repeat.
Anyway, 255.255.255 etc. I guess I don't know what you mean when you say "etc.". Is there more to the command line? Also, wouldn't the ip address be 192.168. etc.? I am really confuse, but not ready to give up yet. Yes, I have the site published on the iss server. It published with no problem. I have other people saying that I would be logging in with http://localhost etc.. I have tried just about every way I can think of to make a logon work.
Thanks for your help!

Since I didnt know the ip range you were using, I couldnt put yours there. Obviously instead of 255.255.etc you will enter YOUR info.

The ip address is 192.168.0.0 and the Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.
So back to my original question, what kind of command line entry would work?
Maybe I am not asking the right question.
I have searched the web to see if there is some kind of "help" that might give me a clue as to what the command line would like in order to logon to the test machine.
Thanks

I doubt the LAN ip on the test PC is 192.168.0.0 but if that the ip that you have thats ok
you should have port 8080 or whatever nr open on IIS
have a static IP on that machine and when you try to access your web page from the other PC you should type this on your web browser
192.168.0.0:8080/dog22
dog22 is the file that you have shared online
8080 is the port that you have open on you routerTrying to make some money so i can go back to my country for vacation

Sorry for the typo, it is 192.168.0.6! I get that info from the Local Area Connection Status menu.
Thanks for your help and I will keep trying.
