when i open internet explorer a web search page appears even if my homepage is blank and im offline, shortcut of two web pages always appear at my desktop, is this a virus, i already ran avg and ad aware and it did not solve the problem

Go to Tools -> intenet options and select blank... (about:blank)
If that doesn't work, then it's spyware of some sort that's hijacking your browser. You can get the program "Hijack This!" and it should help. But also run adaware and/or spybot first.
