we had a power failure. upon logging back on, there were no icons on desktop screen, no startup menu and no tak bar tray...
how do i get them back? nothing happens when i right click on screen, so it must be different for servers.
help! the lock task bar not checked...

Reply:

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, start taskmanager and start a new task. Type explorer.exe and click ok.
This should bring up your desktop again.
Then check the event log for errors to figure out, why explorer.exe did not get started automatically.
