Hi,
i have installed windows 2003 enterprise edition. I have two NIC's in my server. One is connecting to cable came from ISP. and another one is connecting to local intranet. I want to give internet sharing to local systems. How can i do this in windows 2003.Thanks,

Ideally you would not burden your server with this overhead. But if you want then read up on RRAS [routing and remote access service]
Golly gee wilerkers everyone. Learn to Internet Search

Use a firewall/router appliance, even a basic $50 SOHO router is better. Performs better, more secure, and your internet won't go down if something happens to your server.

do as above, and then look at configuring NAT, even if ur extrenal card goes into a NAT router still configure NAT with RRAS(it solves a lot of issues that BBrouters have with 2003 server (2003 server does not support plug n play, when it comes to tcp/ip settings) unlike xp

I personaly always make sure i turn off UPnP on any routers I work with, althou it may seem like a convinient feature, whoever came up with it should be shot. Although no instance of it being used for malicious purposes springs to mind instantly it wouldnt take much in the way of programming to abuse it. My recomendation turn it off.

For a secured environment, I wholeheartedly agree.

I also have a similar problem I have active directory installed. I set up a basic router and it runs to the server and to the rest of the network. I am having problems with AD where it 1) won’t load the roaming profile because the domain isn’t always available and 2) users can not change their passwords. But they are able to log on and have access to their shared files on the server. I had this problem before. But I can not remember how to resolve it. I am running windows 2003 enterprise too.
