Subject: How to Delete SP2 System BACKUP?OS: 2003ServerCPU/Ram: 2.0GhzModel/Manufacturer: ASUS Clone |
Comment: Hey Everyone, I just recently installed WIN2K3 SP2 update on my server, thinking it was only going to take up 200MB, now my C:\ is down too 400MB of free space. We had 2GB before, How can a 200MB update do this? I figured it out, its the that little check box 'backup system files" So now SP2 is installed and working fine, except for the BACUP took almost 1.7GB of space off my C:\ causing Mail and different apps to crash. So here's the question, How does one find the SP2 system backup directory? where are all theses files located? I would love to move them over to my data partition. Someone has got to know this path!...cause google is sure having a hard time finding it. Let me know! ASAP

Reply: (edit)Been awhile but I believe it is listed in add/remove programs to remove. Search by date the entire drive and look for folders on the same date as your update. Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

Reply: (edit)K I figured it out, OPEN "WINDOWS EXPLORER\FOLDER OPTIONS" , CLICK "VIEW" TAB\ now click "show hidden files" Next goto this drectory C:\WINDOWS or your Root windows directory anything that is highlighted blue or has a "$" to start and is blue, copy theses files to a different directory. Boom its as easy as that.
