I would like to audit a shared folder on a 2K3 Standard SP1 file server. I want to audit file and folder moves and deletions. This file server uses a group policy currently which does not include auditing object access. This group policy applies to most of my 20+ servers.
So in order to setup group policy for just one shared folder on that one file server do I need to:
- Enable auditing for the groups listed in that shared folder
- Create a new group policy and apply it to only that one file serverWould this work? I really didn't see any auditing settings for moves, but I did see options to audit deletions.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks:)

Best to learn how to use google or other web search engines. Makes your search for information... informitive.

Thanks for responding, but that Microsoft article is pretty general info. I am wondering how to set auditing to track folder and file moves which is not listed under advanced auditing options. Is there a way to audit folder moves?
Also what is the best way to set this auditing on just one server? Do I have to create a new group policy and apply it to only that server? Currently all 20+ servers have the same GP applied which does not audit folder moves. Thanks.
