hi,

I bought an Asus RS120-E5/pa4 rackmount server and i have to do following steps

Q When I install ASWM 2.0 software on ASUS server, the screen shows a message "insufficient hardware information" that causes ASWM program to close automatically. Why?

A The symptom is due to the motherboard info unable to match the software data.

Please follow the steps below to write the info into the motherboard:

1. Reboot the system by booting from the support CD.
2. Under DOS mode, go to CDROM drive: ASMS>Fru> sub-folder in the support CD.
3. Run "c[model name].exe" file (Ex: for AP130-E1 AA4 model. Execute " C130AA4.exe" ) and then system will prompt you to press "Y" key to write information into the motherboard.

WHen i boot the cd i can choose to use DOS. However i cant access cd rom (D) drive.....i tired to use "cd d:",dir "d:" and chdir (CD)[d:].......but it still doesnät work...can someone please tell me all commands tha i have to do starting from step 2

When the cd is viewed from a normally booted computer do you see the folder?

type a: then press enter key

If you get an a prompt then

type dir then press enter key

You may see the folder there if the CD was created like some others are. They use a combination of ways to create cd's that are similar to the way floppies booted but have more info. It may have other drive letters that are mounted such as virtual drives or ram drives.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10

Ok, from what I'm seeing, you're changing directories incorrectly. In DOS (or from a command prompt) you type the drive letter, followed by a colon, to change to that drive. So for example, you want to change to drive X, the command is:

X: [Enter]

Then, to change to sub folders it would be:

cd ASMS\fru [Enter]
